Impressions
The members of the group thought that the waterside equals fishing, and planned a tour on the theme of smelt fishing, which is a winter tradition. The tour was designed to be relatively easy to set up, to catch up to six fish at once, to be flashy, and to be recommended even for families. Smelt fishing in a warm dome boat broke the conventional concept of "fishing in the cold by making a hole in the ice!" When I actually went there, I found that a wide range of people could enjoy fishing, from expert anglers to family groups. We enjoyed fishing in the crystal clear morning sunshine while looking at the scenery. (M.M)

The surface of the lake, shimmering with irregular reflections in the morning sun, was beautiful and soothing. Also, the time we spent in a silent daze, concentrating only on the fish, was strangely fulfilling and mesmerizing. Of course, we also enjoyed the process of cooking and eating the smelt we caught ourselves, which gave us a sense of accomplishment that we had never felt before. (S.N)
