The 10th IWG OECD Informal Working Group Meeting (IWG) was held

The 10th IWG meeting for OECD The Future of Education and Skills 2030 Project was held during October 23rd, 24th, and the 25th of 2019 at Ilsan and Seoul, Korea. Professor Matsuo Naohiro and Specially appointed lecturer Hasegawa Yuka from NGE attended the meeting.

Unlike previous IWGs, the 10th IWG invited many teachers and students in addition to school leaders, scholars and policymakers. The broader range of participants demonstrated the IWG’s transition from its concern with “what” kind of competencies need to be developed to “how” those competencies should be developed. Many participants from Japan also contributed to the discussions, including the above-mentioned members of NGE in addition to those affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan Innovative Schools Network supported by OECD, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo Gakugei University, Nippon Sports Science University, Fukui University, United Nations International School Hanoi, Toshimagaoka-joshigakuen High School, Fukui Prefectural Tsuruga High School, Fukui Prefectural Wakasa High School, Kobe University Secondary School, The Niigata Junior High School attached to the Faculty of Education of Niigata University, and Ritsumeikan Uji Senior High School.
