大宇陀 Ouda
大宇陀 奈良県宇陀郡大宇陀町
大宇陀町は奈良県のほぼ中央に位置し、南北に流れる宇陀川沿いに街区が構成され、東西には中級の山々が連なる。古代には御狩場として、また柿本人麿が万葉集に阿騎野山として詠み上げるなど大和朝廷と所縁の深い土地柄であり、当時から薬草の産地としても名高い。江戸時代には織田信長の次男信雄（のぶかつ）が城主となる秋山城が置かれ、城下町として発展、伊勢、熊野の海産物を奈良あるいは京、大阪へ運ぶ伊勢街道の中継地として賑わった場所でもあり、近世以降の民家の町並みがよく残っている。
OUDA Uda County NARA
Ouda is located in the middle of Nara. Ouda town is formed along Uda river from south to north and has intermediate class mountains both east and west.
In ancient there was the hunting place for the empire of Yamato. Hitomaro KAKInoMOTO, an influential poet, wrote a poem about Ouda on Manyoh-shu(a royal poetry).
In the Middle Ages, Nobukatsu ODA, a powerful samurai, built his castle and developed there.
During Edo period(1600-1868), Ouda thrived primarily as a junction town of the Ise Highway that connected ports(Ise, Kumano) and cities(Nara, Kyoto, Osaka). So now Ouda has many historical buildings of those days.

芸大建築科学部２年次の課題である実測は、平成10年度で5年連続、計6回この大宇陀町内の建造物を対象に行われている。また昨夏には留学生を交えたワークショップの対象地、年末にかけてハワイ大学と合同で行った国連主催の学生設計競技応募案の敷地となった。
OUDA/US ~How we join hands with Ouda.
We record a building every summer as a study of 2nd degree in Ouda since 1994.
Last summer we held a workshop there with foreign students. And the end of last year we also chose there as our site for UN competition which we tried with Univ. of Hawaii.
